Splash of PowerPoint Orange?

Another thing I've been contemplating about the look of this forum is . . . should there be a splash of more color, say, like PowerPoint orange?

I've temporarily added a background to the header which I threw together in PowerPoint, of course. Also used the top of the headers with the same image.

I'd say it's an improvement. Gives the forum the personality it needs.

You mention that the background to the header is temporary. What's your plan for the final design?

Do you have any suggestions for the background? I just took a screenshot of PowerPoint when you first start, and put a semi transparent orange gradient over it for that orange color.

It did allow me to redo the logo with a darker outline so that it should be able go with anything as the background now.

I'm glad you think the orange gives the forum some life, I agree. However, I think I need a little more tweaking in order for it to be just right. Any suggestions for the color scheme?

As long as you keep the background dark and the text light, I'll stay.  Reverse contrast like this really helps me see what I'm doing without straining my eyes.  Normal contrast, (light upon dark) hurts my eyes because I am extremely sensitive to light and get headaches when exposed to too much of it at once and or for too long of a time.

I can't think of any ideas for the background at the moment, but for the color scheme, you could try using the orange from the PowerPoint 2016 header. It'll look something like this:



It's up to personal preference; I can't say which orange color is better.

Now THERE's an orange that both works and is MUCH EASIER on my light sensitive eyes!  Go with that, and I'm happy!

I'll take a look at what I can do when I get back home, can't modify the forum that well from my phone

I like it now too; it's PERFECT!

I voted for the original scheme after the shock of the new colour hit me!

Starting to have second thoughts now, especially if it makes viewing easier for Jade.

Here, you can see the old color scheme and new color scheme side by side. The PowerPoint orange has really grown on me now. The older color scheme was from a previous forum website I had originally used to create PPC. Unfortunately, that website was really lacking with forum features, so I switched to formotion (what we're using now) and kept the color scheme that was given to us from the former.

I just had a go at something for a Header - with quite a few oranges. Any thoughts? Somehow I just thought that the font fitted.

Yeah, the blue one was the best out of all the ones we've seen so far . . .  I AM starting to miss it more and more as time ProGresses.

Does this forum have theme switching support? If so, perhaps we can bring the blue colors back as an option.

I will look into it.

Edit: It does not look like each user can select their own theme with this software. However, I could easily switch back to the older color scheme fairly quickly so it wouldn't be an issue if need be.

That would be nice.  Since the text on the buttons is white, the darker the background colour, the easier it is for me to see what I'm doing.

So are you liking the orange buttons more, or the light blue buttons?
