Live Page-Updates

Is there any way to have the current thread's page update in real-time whenever a new reply is added? It would make this board feel much-more-alive if it worked similarly to Instant-Messaging-platforms, such as "Meta Messenger", "Game Jolt Chat", or "Whatsapp".

I don't think that option is available for this forum. However, there is a link where you can see all new posts since your last visit. It's the first of 3 links just above the main forum page. Try that out on your next visit!

I use that, but it's rather confusing, since, if I leave my browser to go take care of something else, or to work on a game sans distractions, I end-up clicking that link when I come back here, and it's empty, even if I'd never finished catching-up. It's very frustrating, and a huge driver of FOMO for me.

If there's a new post, there will also be a round white 'NEW' button against the topic on the Home page and should stay there (I think) until the topic's opened.
There are some things we can change here, but many that we can't unfortunately. It's not like a WordPress website where you have back-end controls and plugins that can do almost anything.

One of my main issues with the round, white, "NEW" button, is that screen-readers can't recognize it, because it's a graphic that doesn't have an alternative-text label. Is there any way that you can improve the overall accessibility of this site?
