Tool for picture resizing?

I use the Windows 11 screen capture tool to get pictures of my screen. Works well. Because they're large, I then down-size the pictures to 640 x 480 pixels to add to my posts with the free program XNResize. What I don't like is that the resized shots loose too much detail and look fuzzy.

Can someone recommend a different tool for resizing pixtures while still keeping them crisp?

Re-sizing pictures down is pretty-typically going to get very fuzzy. It basically has to remove detail from the image, so doing that without looking like it did that is very tricky and usually entails re-making the graphics at that new resolution yourself.

You could try using Windows Photos. It has a built-in image re-sizing tool that might do the job better for you.

After having read your post I immediately fired up Windows Photos. Found a cropping tool but no resize tool. Am I missing something?

In the three dots, look for "resize image"

Windows Photos gives better results than XnResize. Since it's in-built no need to look for another.
