Quest Room — Carrot: Windows 11 Audio-Test
Fri Mar 25, 2022 6:29 pm
I have Windows 10. But I know that a lot of people have been switching to Windows 11.
My compressed-games currently use a little-known audio-codec, called "GSM 6.10". It's a compressed-.wav-format that, for example, shrinks my original "Quest Room — Carrot"-engine-test from sixty-five megabytes, all the way down to eleven!
However, because of the changes to the underlying Windows-Media-Player-infrastructure in Windows 11, I have no idea if the audio will be "broken" on that operating-system.
Please, run this engine-demo, and listen for super-slow, or muted, audio anywhere. If the audio plays unbearably-slowly, or if there's no sound at all, please let me know, as that would mean that Windows 11's compressed-audio-support is essentially "broken", and my games will start having to be much larger in file-size as an unfortunate result.
However, if the audio is totally fine, playback- and speed-wise, minus a slight rumbling- or gravelly-noise, that means that it's working perfectly, and if that's the case for you, I'd love for you to let me know of that as well.
You see, I'm getting ready to start stitching-together my official thirteenth-generation of PowerPoint-games, and so any feedback you give me will be critically-helpful, thank you!
You can test it out here:

Thank you for the feedback! That news is just what for which I was hoping! And you, are, on Windows 11, right?
