Jade, we're getting way off topic, and John and I have been patient with you. Please take your new discussion to either a private message or new thread.

I'm sorry.

Back on topic: Did you guys set a limit on the amount of featured projects someone can have? I ask this because what if, hypothetically, someone posts a slew of featured-worthy projects? Would all of this user's projects appear on the featured page, or would only a select few be chosen so it doesn't look like a single person is hogging the spotlight?

I don't believe in setting a limit, as that may cause more problems long-term than help. For your hypothetical situation, we won't feature every single one of them. PPC Staff will compare each of the works and pick the best of the best to be featured. For example, if a user shares 5 mouse games, and 3 point and clicks, we will look at the mouse games and pick 1 or 2 that really stood out for us, and pick 1 point and click. The games we look to feature will have a unique feature or set of features that we hope will inspire others to create their own games.

Reading this response just gave me an idea: If someone shared 5 featured-worthy mouse maze games, chances are they'd be part of a series. Perhaps you could display the first game and on the description, mention that there are sequels with links to their respective posts. Even if it's not of a series, you could still say "Other recommended mouse maze games by [user] include...".

That is a good idea, Tim. I like the idea of saying this game is part of a series, and linking to them. If the first one in the series shines more than the others in the series, it'll be featured. Otherwise, whichever game in the series we feel is the best of the group will be featured. We will be sure to say that this isn't the first in the series, but we thought this game really stood out more than the others, because of . . . and we'll fill in that blank.

I agree with all of the above - but the point is somewhat moot until we get some games / animations etc posted. 5 games posted across the whole membership would be welcome at the moment (feature material or not).

Even if the point is moot at the moment, it's still a good idea to know how the system will work when it becomes applicable.
Anyway, another question: if a featured project receives updates, will the staff change the screenshot/version/download link by the user's request?

Tim, another excellent question to ask that we haven't discussed.
Since we're slowing down a little and probably not going to expect any sudden increase in activity, my plan was tackle the issues as they occur. After then, we would have a better idea on how to handle similar situations in the future when they arise.
With that in mind since we are slow, we would be able to accommodate any updates as required. We do ask that you as the featured creator be considerate of the PPC Staff and refrain from asking to make a lot of minor updates for each and every revision. I think a good rule of thumb for updates would be no more than one update request a month.
