This looks great. How did you make the rock formations? I could only find a pretty bland way of making my mountains!

I searched the internet for free clipart graphics. I needed 4. The sky for instance is the same treeline reversed and stretched. The most tedious part of the job was working them in PPT to get the final end result I was looking for plus a seamless transition effect. I helped myself by using Gimp - the free graphics program originally written for Linux and then adapted to Windows. Sucked me in for half the night. Almost pulled it off too but a seam in the foliage can be noticed. My wife didn't speak to me this morning.

Thanks, I'll check out Gimp. You're lucky, my wife doesn't speak to me at all! Wink

That must have been fun to crop all of those trees and mountains. Shocked

Great job, by the way! GIMP seems like a good program too.

Yikes! I'd really like to have the cropping done by someone else! But life doesn't work that way. Yes, I had to to get to like it. Some Linux aficionados dare say Gimp can compete with Photoshop in many ways. And you don't have to splash out anything on getting it. It's free. It does need a learning curve, though, which - in my opinion - is not too steep if you've dealt with graphics programs before. For me it's much more than I bargained for - Gimp really is a fantastic program for non-professionals.

As to the cropping - there's a PPT function called (now I'm translating from Polish) "remove background" when in Formatting (far left side of the menu). It does work quite well with many images if you fine tune the results you want to achieve with additional marking of areas you want removed or regained Very Happy

Trust me, I've had my "fun" with PowerPoint's Remove Background.

Anyway, I assume you cropped the images with GIMP? If so, you've done a really great job since I hardly notice any inconsistencies. I'm intrigued.

Definitely GIMP. I looked at your "fun with PowerPoint" - I sympathize with your anguish Rolling Eyes. Below is a link to an example I did for the purpose of this post. My same rolling background but I animated the waves in the river. With GIMP it was 1 mouse click to crop a wave segment, copy and paste as a new picture and then export it to a png format. Times 3 segments = 2 minutes of work. Took me considerably longer to roll it with the timings and all Very Happy.
