To rusnakcreative,
I noticed you have a new forum on your site: https://www.rusnakcreative.com/forum
What does this mean for the PowerPoint Creative forum?

Hi Tim,
As far as I'm aware, the PPC forum is still going and people are still joining. I do feel like I'm the only active member most of the time though!

Hi Tim!
To answer your question, the separate forum is just dedicated to my site and games, whereas PPC caters to a much wider audience. I am still testing the waters with the new forum. It is still fairly new and has had some minor updates, and am interested in seeing it grow. The big plus to it, is that it is fully integrated with my website and members features. It is by no means me leaving this forum and the members of PPC. Ideally I would love to move everyone here to the new forum because of the integration with all sorts of cool stuff that my website can offer. With forumotion (here), it feels like they are slowly pulling some features that used to be free and adding them to a tiered pricing system which I don't agree with. If my little forum has the features and functionality of this forum, I'd be set! Until then, I think it'll be ok to have the two run in tandem (I hope?)
What are your thoughts, Tim? Do you think that both forums can co-exist ok? Do you think there's a better platform out there that I can have integrated within my website and members?

It seems like you'd prefer to merge everything to the new forum, which I say go for it. The new forum inherently looks more presentable with the site integration, and it doesn't make sense to maintain multiple forums that serve almost the same purpose, especially when you're less happy with Forumotion.
If you choose this route, the new forum should additionally focus on PowerPoint Creative's traits, like letting others share their works and tutorials. If you can pull this off, I'll consider moving to the new forum. Additional questions/suggestions for you to consider:

To John, what do you think of the new forum? Would you consider moving?

Questions
- You say the new forum can offer cool stuff due to the site integration. Do you have any examples?
- Does the new forum offer private messages (and private message email notifications)?
Suggestions
- I strongly recommend allowing guests to read all the current forum categories. I totally get requiring logins for exclusive links/special categories, but restricting nearly the whole forum is a turn-off to me. Before I sign up for a forum, I always browse the posts to see if the community is a good fit. I also like reading forum posts without logging in for convenience, and allowing guests to view the forum should increase site visibility on search engines.
- I would make the forum font thicker so it's easier to read on non-hiDPI displays.

As Mike says, the new forum is dedicated to Mike's website and games, although I notice that there are a couple of games that members have uploaded. I agree that having to log-in to view things is something of a barrier.
I think that at the moment, the two can co-exist because of their differences. I have joined Mike's forum but the emphasis on quiz / game show / VBA games is different to what I do. If its scope widens - then maybe. I've put a lot into PPC so my heart lies here.
My problem with PPC though is that we attract people to join, and never see them again! I'd love to know why.
