Windows 95 PowerPoint Recreation
Thu Oct 08, 2020 5:38 pm
For the past 5 months I've been working on a take on the classic "PowerPoint OS" style of project, except this time, it's a fully blown recreation of Windows 95, in PowerPoint.
Using VBA and animations, I've created something that I'd say rather closely resembles the real thing. Though it does lack many of the original's features, and some parts are inaccurate, I'm pleased with the result.

I don't do VBA but I found this fascinating. One of the things that struck me was that creating something special in PowerPoint is all about creative problem solving (VBA or not). We ask questions like 'How can I get X to do Y?' and when the solution isn't obvious, we get thinking and work on it. Often it's a matter of trial and error. Sometimes it's a flash of inspiration when doing something else. The how-it-was-made video shows these kind of problem solving processes in action. The great thing about PowerPoint is that there is always a way (well, most of the time!)
I was also really impressed by the video production and the music.
Oh, and welcome to the forum by the way!! Looking forward to hearing from you again.

Ok, I'm impressed, especially with window resizing and dragging. This is quite possibly the most mindblowing PowerPoint project I've ever seen.
