Animations from new Horyd House Game
Wed Feb 13, 2019 4:55 am
I've eventually got round to starting on a new, big, Horyd House game called 'The Caverns of Horyd House'.
One or two games will have a time limit, so I wanted to make a good timer. I then set about making an hourglass which would fit with the Horyd House theme. I also wanted a candle flame, which I made from an element of the original Horyd House game. The hourglass was tricky, needing a lot of experimentation and trial & error and took around 10hrs to get it like it is. Apart from the frame, all of it was made with PPT Shapes.
I was quite pleased with the end results so put them together in a little video.

Excellent work with the animations! That hourglass looks pretty realistic in terms of looks and how it works. Well done!

Hi again Angie,
You have prompted me to think about doing a full-blown tutorial on how to make the hourglass, which is a lot more complicated than the candle.
In the meantime, here's a link to a PPTX file that has these animations. You will need to download it. It also shows the constituent parts of the objects. Hope you can make some sense of them! (Get back to me if not).
FLAME & HOURGLASS + CANDLE Click on the hourglass on the left to see the animation.
(One of the problems with offering advice etc on PPT to people is that if I don't know their knowledge / experience levels with PPT, I run the risk of either talking over their heads, or patronising them! Apologies in advance if either of these things happen.)
