FLOW - a relaxing animation
Wed Sep 02, 2020 7:23 am
Summer's over.
Something I made with the reminiscence of the passing seasons in mind.
Follow the simple on-screen instruction.
The .ppsx download link is here.

I forgot to mention there's a hidden function - like an Easter Egg.
If you click the opening screen in the top right corner you can switch between either of the 2 colours of LEDs.

You know Jarek, you really should start a You Tube channel for your relaxing PowerPoint shows!
One thing with this animation is that i couldn't get to the slide with the blue LEDs. No clicking in the top right corner of the opening screen seemed to work.
Does the show move into the blue slide automatically? As I watched the yellow slide, the LEDs returned and I wasn't sure if I was expected to click them again.
EDIT: I got to the blue LEDs!

Hi John!
What you're really doing is triggering animations of the circles. Since the circles are layered on top of each other I added the LEDs to indicate areas to click on so that each circle gets clicked. You can click them any time you wish. If you do it when the animation is active (no LED) you'll simply stop it (LED on). Clicking it again will start the animation from the beginning. I encourage clicking LEDs that light up to keep the flow. You can try clicking LEDs with a time delay in between for some added effects.
Try this:
click all 7 LEDs in the top row and wait about 7 seconds
click all 7 LEDs in middle row and wait another 7 seconds
click the remaining 7 LEDs in the bottom row and watch
Or this:
click the first column of 3 LEDs and wait about 3 seconds
repeat that for the remaining 6 columns of 3 LEDs.
You can also experiment with:
clicking the 4 corners first
clicking the middle first and slowly expanding to the outside
going slowly from the outside to the inside
etc, etc, etc.
P.S.
The free music is from Bensound.com but obviously you can play your own.

Thank you. I did something similar and tried to get a symmetry to clicking like you suggest above. I really like how you can orchestrate the animations in this way.
I also found it quite interesting to see the LEDs come back in the same order I clicked them!
The sound works well as far as relaxation is concerned. I've used some Bensound music before too.
As a further development, maybe you could have the blue slide transition / fade-in as the music track comes to an end with new colours and new music or have a definite click to move from one slide to another. I love the idea of moving from season to season, so maybe one slide with Spring colours, the next with summer colours, then autumn and so on. (Although I think you could be happy with how it works right now).

I too thought about other colour transitions. It's an endless trial and error game with setting the right colour and time combinations .
Synchronising the show to the music I find rather difficult. The music track is in a loop because for each person it can mean a different amount of time playing with the LEDs.
Different music on each slide - yes.
Can you recommend some sites with free ambient music?

I'm subscribed to this You Tube channel which is quite good for ambient / relaxing sounds.
HearWeGo
If you select a title and go to the You Tube page you can download the music without the video from a link in the description box.

BTW - could you have a go at the revised version of this game?
Earlier it was too hard to pass and additionally I found bugs that made it almost impossible to play.
It doesn't need a steady and fast hand

Great find, John! I love the fact that these are all free and royalty-free. Subscribed.

Did you know you can stop the animation from being "glitch-stopped" by putting an invisible, triggerless copy of each LED over the original, and then setting it to appear when the real one below it is clicked, and disappear when the latter's animation has fully finished? I call this technique, "Accidental-Input-Prevention", or A-I-P, for short. It works with any PowerPoint-animation that you don't want glitchily-ended when its trigger is clicked!
