Little Car Story

It's my very simple attempt at making a very simple Sound & Vision book for a very young child. The opening screen is for the parent to read it to the child so that it understands what to do. The idea boils down to listening, watching animations and pressing the space bar when an orange dot appears at the bottom right corner of the screen. The parent can talk through, invent and develop the plot. The book is in black and white with some grey using simple rolling backgrounds, a repetitive music track and simple basic animations. It's only a test version still under development with many flaws and many enhacements to be made. I know I won't continue the project anymore but I do want to share what I've done till now for anyone who finds it in any way useful or inspiring.

Nice animations, cute little story/scenes the car drives through. I really liked the swivel effect on the star to make it twinkle, nice little touch! Why don't you want to work on this anymore? Just curious.

I dive into a project I find compelling enough to test myself in. It's all about the concept and the means and mechanics to accomplish it. I then work on it for as long as it takes until I think I've achieved a result that satisfies me enough to loose interest and move on to something new. I don't polish things endlessly (pun not intended being Polish).

The Little Car Story is a concept and never was intended as a ready-made give away. It doesn't even have to be a moving car but maybe moving around a playground, home or school/kindergarden. The concept has many opportunities for a even deeper learning experience by giving the child choices and make the story non-linear and teaching it to make correct decisions when confronted with real life situations.

I'm simply sharing a concept and a starting point for those who want to do something a lot better then mine and on their own

I especially liked the train animation and the relaxing music (where did you get it from?)

I could see it being adapted for use in schools where kids have to answer a question relating to a scene in order to continue the journey.

(A good little trick would be to give the car headlight a little transparency so the trees etc that it's passing will be visible)

I added transparency to the headlights, added car engine sound and changed the moon.

The appearance of the moon is stunning.
