Not sure where this would belong, so here I am.
A 50 minute lecture on why Powerpoint is stronger than many people have thought, the comment sections were also a treat to read through. I mean, I knew we over here already knew what Powerpoint is capable of, but its just nice that someone's finally able to articulate it properly.

End of semester is here yay! I can finally do some real powerpoint business once more! So for like, 2 weeks forward, I'll be frequently hanging around. What is everyone up to?
Campus life is so hectic, I'm sorta afraid that job hours later in my life will be just like this and I would have a really scarce free time for my hobbies. That's all for now, see you in Games board when I finally post something I put together in record time for you all to try out!

My laptop is currently not with me, rip.
I would frankenstein something together as a mini celebration for my return here and as a gift for people that are still sticking around, but I can't do that just yet.
For a quick look back on what happened to me outside, I joined my campus's theatre troupe. Hectic training schedule, barely had enough time for my class assignments, let alone powerpoint passion projects.
Games are probably too time consuming to make in record time, so design posters would have to do for now. Or maybe, uh, next week.
How is everyone?

Things are very quiet here now. Some would say virtually dead. I've taken a break from PPT games in favour of painting. I joined an art group around three years ago, and I now manage its website, YouTube channel, Etsy shop, Facebook group, along with being the group photographer and video maker. I'm also on the committee that runs it. Gaps in my days are otherwise filled with days out fishing and playing snooker with my son. Not much time left for making games, although I do use PPT when making videos for the group.
Good to have you back though, but don't expect much frantic activity!

I haven't touched PowerPoint in a while. Actually, I did a couple of weeks ago just to provide an update to a prior customer of mine. But other than that, it's been close to a year since I've been active with PowerPoint. I've been meaning to learn more coding outside my PowerPoint bubble, but just can't seem to find the time for it when other things pop up that take precedence. Such is life, eh? At least you sound like you're having some fun times with your theatre troupe! Enjoy it while you can!

Posting from laptop!
I'm on my way to putting something together, seems like its forming into a little game, a proof of concept of some sort. Building it off from memory, something I've made in the past that I've lost in that freak disk accident. I think this one will come off more polished than how I recall it was, still rough around the edges of course, but at least you guys will be able to enjoy it.
Well, I hope you guys will still be able to enjoy it... Everyone seemed to have gone on hiatuses of ppt game making nowadays, oof.
That sounds nice, so you've been painting? And spending more time with family and friends! That's cool! Do you post your paintings anywhere? I'd like to see them! Its fine if you don't wanna post it though *cough* my inbox is always open *cough*
Life really does went lightspeed nowadays, everything happens so quickly that we'd be left in the dust if we let our guards down too much. Being in a theatre troupe is fun, but also tiring. There are project management lessons to be learned here, I've been reading Meri Williams book repeatedly for the last few months, trying to use the knowledge I gained from it to my surrounding environments, reiterating my takes and understanding of the tips, how to handle job tasks, and people, and people's tasks, lots of learning to be learned haha. I think I'm retrying the last 2 semester this year, it was THAT hectic, or I just suck at personal time management. Well, something's bound to change after this new year.
I still use Powerpoint every now and then, always my go-to when creating posters and simple mockups. Canva is... okay I guess, they got some flexible tools that are easier to use than powerpoint toolsets albeit in a very limited applications/situations.
Still not a master in C++ or VisualBasic, I've been neglecting my studies too much oof. Should really fix that behavior soon so I can get down to PPT VBS magic wizardry.
Jarek, show up! Matto, too! (If he's lurking around). And everyone else, really, show yourself!

As I run the website for my art group, I can happily send to a link. I have set up a separate gallery for each group member to show their works. Here's the link to My Gallery. You can have a browse around the rest of the site at your leisure if you want. You will see a link to a 'Showcase' page from my gallery that shows some works I did on PPT based on some famous paintings 'with zombies'.
To shamelessly brag a little, my group holds an annual exhibition where visitors are asked to vote for their favourite painting. We have around 200 visitors over 2 days. I won it in 2022 with 'Tiger Eyes', was runner-up in 2023 with 'You Can't Handle The Truth' (sold) and 'Tiger Eyes' again (sold at 2024 exhibition). I won it again this year with 'Clyde' and runner-up as well with 'My Baby' (sold) (My baby would probably have won, but it was sold and removed on day 1, only 2 votes behind Clyde).
Anyway, enough bragging. I'd be interested to know what you think.

I wasn't expecting much, but boy did that gallery take my breath.
Clyde's visceral eye was drawn very beautifully! Lizard Eye too! I don't know, I have a thing for realistic eyes, you drew them really well, its as if there is a soul behind them.
Owl Eyes I feel like I could only appreciate when viewed physically, its drawn in landscape and I use my phone (which is portrait 16:9) to view them so they look tiny, some of the magic is certainly lost.
Two Yarrell's Blennies, I like also. Two silly looking fella, I wonder what tomfooleries they're planning up to commit. The valentine fellas too lol, silly looking fellas are my favorite, double the trouble!
Ghouls Ghosts and Goblins are also cool, I really like the color combinations used there. Three Pours I like in particular because the bold pink color attracts attention in a sea of jaded abstract colors.
I might use some of those abstract paintings for my profile banner art or something soon, if you allowed it. At the very least, I think I'm putting it as a wallpaper, its THAT good.
And Scary Door Knocker, I can definitely see why someone fell in love with it and wants it hanged up in their house. That lad made a good deal, I can vouch that for him!

Many thanks for your comments and your appreciation.
It just shows how a chance meeting with someone can change your life. I started chatting with a guy at a stall at a 'fun day' event near home that was displaying some of the group's paintings. The group met weekly in a hall less than half a mile from me, so I went along one evening...and the rest is history, as they say.
Here's (hopefully) a bigger picture of Owl Eyes (A great grey owl). I'm currently working on an elephant head.
Edit: Feel free to use any images for anything, and if possible, some kind of mention would be nice, but not obligatory.

Life is full of surprises like that haha. You're talking to someone new one day, the next thing you know you are painting alongside passionate master painters.
I think I'll check the Owl Eyes when I got my laptop, connect it with HDMI to my large TV, to really bask in the details of it all.
Also looking forward to the elephant!
The small thing I'm working on as a proof-of-concept seems to be growing into a full-blown demo game, can't say I'm not excited to share it with you guys, but I don't like how I can't seem to stick to my original plan with each bursts of new ideas that I try to incorporate to the project, every darn time!

Creativity can be a real bummer at times, can't it! Keep going and you'll get somewhere!
Just to avoid disappointment at your big-screen viewing, the optimum distance for viewing a painting is four times its diagonal length. So if you've got a 50-inch screen, stand back!

I showed my friend from over the US the link to your paintings and he's asking if you accept commissions haha

Actually I do!
Depends on the subject and I need a good quality photo to work from. These paintings in my gallery were commissions: Sherlock; Gwynny; Joker Jack; Gina, Lord Nelson; and Giraffe (which was commissioned as a birthday present for the singer-songwriter Richard Digance - who was quite well known over here from the 70s onwards)
